Save the Date! 29th Annual Smart Commute Week

June 5, 2023 June 9, 2023

The week consists of events that promote cycling, walking, taking the bus and carpooling – anything creative and human powered that you gets you where you need to go! Every year community members challenge each other to a free friendly competition known as the Smart Commute Week Challenge. This year we will be offering free, fun, and safe grab-n-go breakfast.

All breakfasts are scheduled from 7am-9am and are free to all Smart Commuters. Seriously! All you have to do is smart commute.

You don’t have to sign up for the smart commute challenge to enjoy the free daily breakfast, but the more the merrier AND when you sign up you are eligible for sweet swag and prizes from our sponsors!

Custom trophies will be awarded to challenge teams with the highest scores at the awards ceremony breakfast held at Oryana on Friday, June 10th. Bonus points will be used as tiebreakers and for a chance to win additional prizes (must be present to win).

Smart Lot

Back by popular demand we have designated ‘Smart Lots‘ around town for Smart Commuters to safely park and ride/walk/carpool/bus from there. You may legally park in any of these lots during Smart Commute Week.

Smart Commute Challenge Sign up

The Challenge is a fun and friendly competition among local smart commuters that occurs during Smart Commute Week every year. It is open to ALL and totally FREE to participate. Team captains will need to register their team below and are responsible for keeping track of team points by collecting each team member’s punch card and turning them in at the TART Trails office by Thursday, June 9th at noon, and logging commutes online daily.

Here’s how it works:

1.) Form a Team. Rally your family, friends, classmates and co-workers…or compete solo. No team size restrictions. No age restrictions. Experts and beginners…all are encouraged to join in the fun. Any individual who might normally drive a single passenger vehicle to and from their destination but instead uses an alternative form of transportation is qualified to participate.
Rule: Team size must remain the same throughout the week!
Team division sizes: Large (50+), Medium (11-49), Small (2-10) and Individual

2.) Assign a Team Captain. Team captains will need to register their team below and are responsible for keeping track of team points and logging scores online daily. We’ll provide all the details you need to help you take your team to victory!

3.) Get Points. Ride your bike, walk, take the bus, carpool. Turn in scores daily to team captains. Go to daily breakfasts and other sponsored activities to rack up bonus points. Share your smart commute stories on social media #SmartCommuteTC.
