What bicycles do you have in your garage that you don’t ride but may transform someone’s life?
Bicycle or bike part donations can be brought to the workshop during our normal hours. Please call us if an alternate time is needed for bike donations.

Interested in becoming an R-A-B recipient?
We provide voucher bikes and free repairs for those bikes at our workshop. To receive a bike individuals must have a bike voucher. Bike vouchers for RaB can be obtained through the local agencies and social workers. Please, contact us if there are questions.

Interested in volunteering at R-A-B?
Volunteers keep the workshop going and we are always looking for new volunteers to help out in a variety of functions. If you have an interest in volunteering at Recycle a Bicycle, please call us or drop us an email.

Looking to purchase a good used bike?
To sustain the workshop and make bikes available to economically disadvantaged individuals, we also make some of the refurbished donated bikes available for purchase to the general public. Bikes can be purchased during our normal workshop hours.

Scott, an unemployed middle aged man, was desperate for transportation and he was determined to get a bicycle. He hitchhiked in to Traverse City from Mancelona and stopped in at Father Fred’s.  They referred him to Don Cunkle at Recycle-A-Bicycle. Don had one bicycle that would work – a 10 speed road bike. Don added reflectors, adjusted the seat, gave him a bag to attach to the handlebars instead of the two plastic bags he was carrying, and sent him on his way. Scott rode the entire way back to Mancelona. In one day Scott’s life was transformed. He had a reliable source of transportation, thanks to someone donating a road bike they no longer used.

Special Thanks!
