Bill Allen, Ecstatic Dance, 2023
Allen’s enchanted woodland nature spirits have found a new home amongst the cedars along the Leelanau Trail. This cast of characters seems to be interacting in a sacred dance or ritual, on display for all trail users to witness, and for some to take part.
About the Artist
Northern Michigan-based artist Bill Allen is a nationally known artist with a wide-ranging oeuvre spanning media. As a metal sculptor, his work tends to depict animals of all types, including both the real and surreal. His sculptures are crafted of welded steel, galvanized and coated with a liquid copper.
