The TART Transformation 2.0 project plans to reconstruct a segment of the eastern portion of the Traverse Area Recreation Trail to the north and south of Holiday Road. This trail section is consistently susceptible to stormwater run-off and sinking asphalt due to its proximity to wetland areas on the eastern side of the trail. Tree roots are also splitting through the trail, creating more obstacles for trail users.

This reconstruction project will stabilize the soil below the trail, redirect stormwater run-off to avoid the trail, and repave the asphalt to ensure a more enjoyable trail user experience. Making these trail improvements will facilitate safer trail journeys for all!
