North American Vasa Festival of Races

The North American Vasa has been a Traverse City tradition since 1977. For 44 years, they have been celebrating winter with the “Festival of Races.” The entire community comes together to make it all possible. Whether you’re a newbie to the sport of cross country skiing or a seasoned racer, young or not so young, “The Vasa” has something to offer you. They offer ski races from 6 to 50km in both classic and skate styles for all ages. And that’s not all: in recent years they welcomed the addition of fat bike races, and this year, they are excited to be offering a snowshoe race. Timber Ridge Resort hosts the festivities, and events take place in the beautiful Pere Marquette Forest. All this is in the backyard of the vibrant town of Traverse City. We hope you join us!

Freestyle Saturday, February 8th, 2020
Ski Races Scheduled:
- 50km Okerstrom Ski Marathon
- 50km Cut-off for first lap completion 11:30 am
- 25km George Kuhn Half Ski Marathon
- 12km Korteloppet
- Junior VASA
- 6km freestyle Ski Race (for kids 14-19 years of age)
- 6km Freestyle Fun Ski Tour
- 2020 Course Maps
Vasa Classic Sunday, February 9th, 2020
Classic events will include:
- 34km Lombard Loppet
- 34K Cut-off for first lap completion 11 am
- 17km Chemical Bank Classic
- 6km Classic Race (up to age 19 only)
- 6km Fun Tour
