A new Grand Traverse Safe Streets Alliance has been formed to promote safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists in the region. The alliance includes TART Trails, the Cherry Capital Cycling Club, Norte, Groundworks, the Disability Network of Northern Michigan, the Traverse City Track Club, the Citizen’s Climate Lobby, and the League of Michigan Bicyclists. The alliance aims to promote the development of safe and effective non-motorized transportation and pedestrian corridors in Traverse City and adjacent counties.
Learn more about US Bicycle Route 35. The Michigan portion of USBR 35 extends 501 miles from Sault Ste. Marie in the north to New Buffalo in the southwest corner, passing through our area along the TART Trail and Leelanau Trail.
