Trail Improvements
Parallel Trail
We’re always looking to support great experiences on the trail. In 2019, TART partnered up with the Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association to try out a new way to enjoy the trail in the winter.
Volunteers designed 4 miles of natural surface trail alongside the Leelanau Trail between 4th Street and Center Road to support winter riding. The trail, dubbed the Parallel Trail, is housed within the 100′ swath of land owned by TART.
In 2019, TART purchased a new Yamaha Snowscoot and commissioned a grooming implement fabricated by Great Lakes Stainless in Traverse City to help support a great winter on the trail. In its first winter, the trail was groomed by TART Ambassador Chad Jordan over 50 times to the delight of many winter trail users.
