Chalk & Chocolate Traverse City

COST: Per square: $10 Junior Division / $20 Artist Division
Crooked Tree Arts Center, Top of Michigan Trails Council and TART Trails, Inc. will present the first-ever Chalk & Chocolate-Traverse City as part of the Traverse City Film Festival. The sidewalks in the Clinch Park Open Space are the target of artists young and old for this chalk art celebration.
Artists of all abilities- from the beginner to experienced chalk artist are welcome. The fee to participate is $10 for the Junior Division and $20 per square for the artists, 16 years and above.
There will be 3 – $50 honorable mention awards in the Junior Division. For those individual artists aged 16 years and above who wish to compete, there are cash awards in two categories – Open Theme and Renaissance or Master’s Reproduction.

Cash awards are as follows:
1st Place – Open Theme: $1,000
1st Place – Master’s Reproduction: $1,000
2nd Place – Open Theme: $500
3rd Place – Open Theme: $250
People’s Choice Award: $500 (One award given for Open Theme or Master’s Reproduction)

If spectator is more your style, Ann Arbor Street Artist, David Zinn is the featured artist and juror for both dates. He’ll be on-site all morning (s), creating a special work for the festival. All are welcome to stop by and see him and the other artists in action.
Visitors can stop by a chocolate tasting tent too! Chocolate purveyors will be providing chocolate tastings from 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. Your can purchase a $5 ticket to sample delicious chocolates. All proceeds benefit Crooked Tree Arts Center. Top of Michigan Trails Council and TART Trails, Inc.
