Annual Gifts and Special Events Coordinator

The Annual Gifts and Special Events Coordinator is an integral part of TART Trails’ fundraising and outreach team. With a focus on new donors, donor retention and increased levels of giving, the coordinator will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward gifts through a variety of strategies including, but not limited to, annual direct mail appeals, social media, special events, phone calls and personal visits. In addition, this position provides strategic and creative oversight for a portfolio of events that achieve strategic fundraising and/or programmatic goals. The coordinator must cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and supporters to successfully advance TART Trails’ mission. Working on a small team, the position requires a collaborative approach to work, support of TART’s core values, and ability to positively communicate and work with staff, Board, and volunteers.  The Annual Gifts and Special Events Coordinator reports to the Development Director.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual giving strategies to increase giving and participation rates via multi-channel approach
    • Lead and manage direct mail solicitations
    • Coordinate Giving Tuesday campaign
    • Coordinate Grooming campaign and Vasa K sponsorships
    • Conduct stewardship activities including thank you calls
  • Manage mail and online acknowledgement system(s)
  • Lead TART-driven fundraising events including Tails to Trails and Tour de TART
  • Lead project and program related events including trail tours, ground breakings and ribbon cuttings
  • Support strategic community-hosted events
  • Support social media presence on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Track and analyze annual giving and event results to inform future decisions
  • Lead monthly development dashboard reporting
  • Identify and secure private and public grants
  • Support grant management including public recognition opportunities, reporting deadlines and donor communications
  • Maintain and expand/improve donor information in database (Salesforce)
  • Support Sustainer’s Circle and Major Donor programs by coordinating monthly communications and leading stewardship events including annual Oktoberfest event
  • Be willing to explore and implement new ideas
  • Support TART Trails’ programs as needed including Smart Commute

Qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for and understanding of TART Trails’ mission and role in the community
  • Ability to organize and manage projects and events
  • 1-3 years of event planning experience
  • Website management and digital media fluency
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interest and ability to work with volunteers on projects designed to advance TART Trails’ mission
  • Ability to embrace a team-oriented approach to supporting and managing TART Trails’ communication and outreach efforts
  • Strong organizational skills and a disciplined approach to work and problem solving
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft office and database software (Salesforce)
  • Flexible work schedule and time management skills appreciated as evening and weekend hours will be required
  • Associate’s degree or more preferred but not required

Compensation

This is a non-exempt, full-time position with a competitive salary ($35,000 – $48,000) commensurate with background and experience. TART Trails, Inc. offers a suite of benefits including 403(b) match, health insurance, and flexible work schedule.
